Refinishing and

Staining

At Walsh Hardwood Flooring, you will get a professional installation you’ll love (the first time)! We accomplish this by our proven approach. First, each floor is coated with one coat of oil-based stain (if chosen) and 3 coats of oil-based polyurethane. To ensure that each coat is properly set, we require 6-8 hours of dry time between coats and then buff the floors before applying the next coat. We will also use water-based finishes as needed. We use premium products; so you can rest assured our water and oil based finishes are made from quality ingredients! For example, all of our products are low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) products meaning they are the safest products commercially available for you and your family.

We can remove years of wear and tear and get your hardwood floors looking brand new in a matter of hours. We will do everything we need to move and protect all furniture and do a full clean up after each project!

Screen and

Coat

For general maintenance of your floor between refinishing, especially in high traffic areas, we offer the screen and coat. In this application, we buff your floors and apply one coat of polyurethane to return your floors to their original luster. We recommend this service every 3-5 years, at the longest. We recommend a sand and refinish every 10 years. If it has been more than 5 years since your last screen and coat, you are at an increased risk of damaging the hardwood underneath the floor. Once permanent damage has occurred, a full hardwood floor installation will be required. So don’t delay! Doing a screen and coat will ultimately save you time and money in the long run.
