Hardwood Floor Installation

Hardwood flooring is a popular choice for many homeowners due to its durability, timeless appeal, and natural beauty. Hardwood floors can be made from various types of wood, each offering unique characteristics in terms of color, grain, and hardness.

Hardwood Flooring

Effective hardwood flooring installation begins with careful layout planning, including determining the direction of the planks and measuring the space to estimate material requirements. The installation can be done using various methods: nail-down installation, where planks are nailed to a wooden subfloor; glue-down installation, where planks are adhered directly to the subfloor; and floating installation, where planks interlock and rest on an underlayment without being attached to the subfloor. Each method has its own advantages depending on the subfloor type and the desired final look.

With Walsh’s Hardwood Flooring Services, you will get a professional installation you’ll love (the first time)! We accomplish this by our proven approach. After the layout is decided, each floor is coated with one coat of oil-based stain (if chosen) and 3 coats of oil-based polyurethane. To ensure that each coat is properly set, we require 6-8 hours of dry time between coats and then buff the floors before applying the next coat.

We will also use water-based finishes as needed. We use premium products; so you can rest assured our water and oil based finishes are made from quality ingredients! For example, all of our products are low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) products meaning they are the safest products commercially available for you and your family.
